How to Add Custom Hatch Pattern to a Drawing?

In order to add a custom hatch pattern to your drawing, please see the steps below: First, let’s find out the location of the Hatch Pattern File.

1. Click Options  (Standard toolbar) or Tools > Options.
2. On the System Options tab, click File Locations.
3. In Show folders for, select Hatch Pattern File and note the directory(only available in Solidworks 2021):

5.Now to go to the location and edit the .ptn file at the location found through the above location and add the syntax for the custom pattern:

6.Save the file and hit F5 to refresh.

7.Open Solidworks again and choose the newly added Hatch Pattern (endgrain) from the list:
