Have you ever wanted to place a logo or text on a curved surface? Did you try using Wrap tool and face difficulty achieving the outcome you after? Did you get following error/warning messages?

There is a workaround to this, follow the steps given below.

For example, I have a curved shape part as shown below. I would like to wrap a text around the front face. If I tried to use wrap feature I get the error message as above.

First of all crate a sketch on a plane that is perpendicular to the face and convert the outline of the face.

Then use surface extrude feature to create a surface using the sketch created previously.

After that create a new sketch on the plane parallel to the face and insert your text/logo.

Use wrap feature and create a wrap on new surface created in step 2.

Delete face command to remove the extrude surface and keep the surfaces of text/logo

Finally use thicken tool to convert surface text/logo to solid with required thickness.
