Lock Your Grids

If you are one of those people who likes to use Grid Lines, It is usually a good idea to lock them into place.  (This is a good practice to get into so that the goblins don’t come along and move them halfway through the project)  There are 2 simple ways to do this, By layer or by object.

If you want to use the layer method, Place the grid line on their own layer and then click the lock icon in the layer control dialogue box

This can be handy if you also want to display things like dimensions on the same layer.  Make sure you don’t forget to update your layer sets as well.

The second method is to simply select the objects, then go to Edit>Locking>Lock

Once the objects are locked, you will be able to select them and open their settings, but you won’t be able to change the settings or move the objects.

Remember that this method can be used for anything, roof planes, columns, slabs etc.  Good way of limiting the amount of damage that could be caused by the junior staff members!
