Pipe Routes – Change formed bends to elbows and vice versa

In SOLIDWORKS pipe routes it’s possible to change formed bends to elbows and vice versa. This is achieved using the little known “Elbow Angles” function.
This function can be accessed by clicking on the elbow sketch when editing the route. The image below shows the function’s location in the flyout toolbar.
Unfortunately it’s not quite as simple as just “swapping” them, but it is a quick and easy process. The video below shows the procedure.
