SOLIDWORKS Electrical Portal Gold Access
As a part of your SOLIDWORKS Electrical subscription you are entitled to free gold level access to the Electrical Portal where you can download a whole host of extra content for your Electrical database or request new parts be drawn.
In the past this was a tedious process where you would contact your reseller and ask them to raise a service request. 2-3 weeks later you would have the access granted. However new in SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2016 is the ability to do this automatically yourself.
To do this, launch Electrical 2016 and go to Library > Manufacturer parts manager.
In the Manufacturer parts manager select the new button “Update Subscription”
You will get a pop-up appear that asks you if you want to login to the portal. Select yes and then it will prompt your for login details or give you the option to create an account.
Login if you already have an account or create a new one and login. Once done you will have full access to the gold level of the content portal!
