SolidWorks Product upgrade on Network licences

If you need to modify your SolidNetwork license (SNL) manager because of an upgrade  follow the steps below.

Go to Start>All Programs>SolidWorks>SolidWorks Tools and SolidNetwork license Manager.

Stop the license server and select Modify

As the license is already activated select “Transfer a software license” Use the ‘Automatically over the internet’ option if the server is on the internet or ‘manually via email’ if not.

Once done the screen will show the successful transfer

Select Finish and close and then restart the SolidNetwork License administrator. It will state that there are no SolidNetwork licenses and ask if you would like to activate. Selecting activate will activate the server with the new upgrades that have been purchased.

Finally for the client computers the SW software was installed with the add-ins etc that were licensed at the time. The upgrade may require extra software to be installed on the client machine. To do this go to the Control panel> programs and features and right mouse button on SolidWorks selecting Change. Select Modify when the installation manager appears and then Next till you are at Product Selection.

You can then select “Select different packages or Products” and install the highest level you have on your network license i.e. Premium.

Continue by hitting Next till the Installation manager is finished. You are now ready to go.
