SOLIDWORKS Product upgrade on Stand-alone licenses
Tips and Tricks • Mark Duggan • 23 September 2015
If you have upgraded your software by adding another product such as Simulation you will need to transfer your license off your machine and then reactivate. This is true for stand-alone and network license users.
For network license users see SOLIDWORKS Product upgrade on Network licences for server information
Open SOLIDWORKS and Select Help and transfer licenses to transfer the license off. Once transferred start SolidWorks again and it will ask if you want to activate. Please do so.
This transfer and reactivation lets your machine communicate with the server at SOLIDWORKS and update what it is now licensed to use.
The next step is to make sure your computer has the necessary software installed.
To do this go to the Control panel>Add/Remove programs and select SOLIDWORKS and RMB for Change. Select Modify when the installation manager appears.
Select next and next again past the serial number screen until you get to Product Selection.
You can Select the appropriate package from the drop down but if you have transferred off and reactivated the installer will know what packages you need.
Keep selecting Next till finished.
You should now have the extra products with the appropriate licensing on your machine allowing them to be used. If any of the add-ins aren’t available contact support@intercad.com.au.
