Spotlight on ARCHICAD 19 – Label Improvements

Tips and Tricks Joshua Osborne 8 June 2015

I know – ‘Label Improvements’ doesn’t sound particularly sexy as far as New Features go, but bear with me.

The label tool – which we all use, but probably never actually think about – has got some fancy new tricks. The first thing is that you can now add multiple labels to a single element.

1

The first thing is that you can now add multiple labels to a single element. So you can put different labels on a single element that list properties (such as the Fire Rating, and the ID), place the same label multiple times along a large element, label parts of a Hotlinked module inside the host project, or whatever else you can think of.

The next thing, is that they are now much easier to place – you don’t need to go through the element’s settings dialog anymore, now you can just click on it with the label tool. This also means that you can label multiple different elements at once!

And finally, editing Labels and Pointers is much easier and cleverer. You can now edit the angle of the pointer lines, lock the angle of the lines, and easily switch pointers on and off for all labels of a certain type.
