Why Don’t the Dimensions for Derived Configurations Appear in the Design Table?
Tips and Tricks • Peter • 2 May 2018

Derived configurations allow you to create a parent-child relationship within a configuration.
By default, all parameters in the child configuration are linked to the parent configuration. If you change a parameter in the parent configuration, the change will automatically propagates to the child.
Likewise, when you generate a design table, the parameters that are linked to parent configuration show up in the parent configuration and the respective cells are blank for the derived configuration
You can override, any configurable parameter in the derived configuration so that the parameter is no longer linked to the parent.
To do that, activate the derived configuration and edit the parameter.
If the dimensions are changed to ‘this configuration’, the dimension values will populate in the design table as they are no longer linked to the parent configuration.
The parameter changes in the derived configuration but not the parent, and the parameter is no longer linked.
