Openings and Module Files

Ordinarily, a Hotlink cannot be edited when it’s in a host file. You must open the source of the Hotlink and edit this.

Introduced in Archicad 23, Openings are an exception – which makes sense as they are designed to work with Hotlinked IFC models.

Another advantage of this workflow is the Hotlink’s respect for Building Material Priority and it’s ability to automatically resolve junctions. This means you can draw a wall inside the opening, then add a new door or window.

Think of this neat little work around the next time you’ve got a Hotlink Module editing itch you can’t (ordinarily) scratch.
