Roof Wizard – No Cross Beam?

The Roof Wizard is a widely under-utilised tool in ARCHICAD. With a few clicks – users can quickly add roof structure like rafters and collar beams to their roofs.
However, for most users – the appearance of the collar beam is missing from view, despite having activated it in the settings.
The reason is that the out of the box default height is between 4000 and 6000 above storey level. Some distance above the roof itself.
First, check the height of the pitching point by selecting the roof and see it’s height to Project Zero (the 0,0,0 origin of the file)
Once you know this, you can proceed with the Roof Wizard workflow;
The final step is to ensure that the height of the collar beams is set up correctly
