Intercad at NMW in Melbourne

Tips and Tricks Central Innovation 1 July 2015

Intercad at NMW in Melbourne

This year Intercad had a big presence at the National Manufacturing Week (NMW) held in Melbourne on 26-29 May.

NMW is the only fully integrated annual manufacturing exhibition showcasing the latest products and constantly evolving technologies in the expanding manufacturing market. It was for us the perfect chance to catch up with industry peers, inform prospective visitors and meet our customers.

Intercad is part of Central Innovation group and this year showcased on its stand SolidWorks, Simulation and Data Management software and Central Innovation’s amazing high performance workstations and notebook PCs.

In addition to a refreshed branding, the eye catching stand exhibited a Red Bull Racing V8 show car supplied by Intercad’s technology partners – Triple Eight Race Engineering. An added attraction was the chance to win race tickets with the business card bowl drop.

Day 1 was a steady day and our team of Ross Gould, John Belsham, Ilce Jovanov, Jason Princehorn, John Atkinson and Esfandyar Kouhi were kept busy talking to many familiar customers and people interested in our products. In total the stand was visited by almost 100 people signalling that this was going to be a very busy 4 days.

Day 2 was attended by Luke Kenny, Mark Duggan, and again by Ilce, Esfandyar, Jason and John. Wednesday was even busier than the previous day and everyone was kept busy talking to interested people about SolidWorks, and there was much interest about our high performance workstations. Esfandyar provided a very interesting presentation on the topic of What’s new in SolidWorks 2015. It was also amazing to see how many of the other exhibitors are Intercad SolidWorks customers with many coming over to chat between their busy schedules.

Day 3 is the long day being open until 9pm and is traditionally attended by many members of the general public and also hundreds of students – many learning SolidWorks as part of their course studies. The stand was attended by Guy Wallis, Gary Garner, John Belsham, Mark Duggan, Adrian Connard and again by Esfandyar, Jason and John. Thanks again to Esfandyar for delivering his presentation for the second day running, and Adrian, Mark and even Guy were kept very busy showing customers and prospects aspects of SolidWorks that they were keen to know about. Many of the visitors came from far and wide, including Customers from Beaufort, Ballarat, Kerang, ACT, Queensland, WA, Tasmania and New Zealand. NMW in Melbourne is truly a nationally attended event.

Day 4 was very busy in the morning and attended by Peter Michalski, Guy, Adrian, Esfandyar, and Jason. By this time Jason and Esfandyar must have been wondering what day it was, but the interest and attendance at the stand somehow made it worthwhile. The event wrapped up at about 3:00 PM and was judged a great success with the prospect of many new customers coming on board with both SolidWorks and our high performance PCs.

Congratulations to our competition winner, who will be enjoying the next V8 supercar race at Sandown, and thanks again to Triple Eight Race Engineering and Red Bull Racing Australia for the Supercar.

We also would like to say thank you to all the visitors for coming on our stand as it was a great success.

We hope to see you all again at our next event!
