TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Brisbane, Australia
Wilson Architects + Donovan Hill

TRI is conceived as a series of interconnected places to enable a community of research. From the intimate to the expansive, the building acknowledges the diverse communities that make up Translational Research Institute. It enables both the intensity of scientific discovery, research and a range of opportunities for collaboration.

The architectural design was jointly produced by two collaborating firms – Wilson Architects and Donovan Hill Architects, working in association. Wilson Architects used ARCHICAD whilst Donovan Hill used Revit. The ability to work across the two platforms required careful planning and management from the very inception of the project. Once the framework of the CAD structure was in place, ongoing rigorous management of the design and documentation process maintained the ability to integrate information from both firms during the documentation production stages.

Wilson Architects use ARCHICAD as a fully integrated three dimensional design and documentation tool for the entire design process, from inception to completion.
